Most of Ashton's racing has been in ILCA 4.7, with additional starts in ILCA 6 and Optimist B. Key performances include winning the SailingSA events in the multiple fleets fleet, along with the SailingSA events in the multiple fleets fleet. Ashton remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
