A Western Cape sailor, Ben Madel represents ZVYC in competitive dinghy racing. Since December 2023, 160 races across 20 regattas have been recorded for Ben. Most of Ben's racing has been in Optimist A, with additional starts in Optimist B and Sonnet. Key performances include winning the 2026 Western Cape Dinghy Championships Final in the Optimist A fleet, along with the 2026 HYC Cape Classic in the Optimist A fleet. Ben continues to compete regularly across provincial and national sailing events.
