Dawson Ellis represents SPYC and races in the Free State sailing circuit. Dawson's competitive record on SailingSA begins in August 2021. Since then 43 races across 7 regattas have been completed. Dawson competes mainly in the J22 fleet, alongside races in Dabchick and ILCA 6. Dawson's best results include winning the 2024 -08-11 J22 National Championships in the J22 fleet, as well as the 2024 -06-17 Nr J22 Interclub in the J22 fleet. Dawson remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
