Derek Wilkes represents HMYC and races in the KwaZulu-Natal sailing circuit. Since April 2021, 29 races across 3 regattas have been recorded for Derek. Derek competes mainly in the Soling fleet, alongside races in other fleets. Derek's best results include winning the 2022 Soling & Flying 15 National Championships in the Soling fleet, as well as the 2021 Soling Kzn Regional Championships in the Soling fleet. Derek continues to build experience across competitive sailing regattas.
