Most of Michael's racing has been in Optimist A, with additional starts in Optimist B. Key performances include winning the 2025 W. Cape Championships - Dinghy Classes in the Optimist B fleet, along with the 2025 HYC Cape Classic Optimist B in the Optimist B fleet. Michael remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
