A Gauteng sailor, Mika Malan represents VLC in competitive dinghy racing. Mika's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2023. Since then 111 races across 13 regattas have been completed. Mika competes mainly in the Optimist A fleet, alongside races in Mirror and Dabchick. Key performances include winning the 2025 Sas Mirror National Championship in the Mirror fleet, along with the 2025 Interschool Gauteng Regional Championships in the Optimist A fleet. Mika remains active in regional dinghy racing.
