Sailing from VLC, Mika Malan competes in the Gauteng dinghy circuit. Since December 2023, 147 races across 16 regattas have been recorded for Mika. Mika competes mainly in the Optimist A fleet, alongside races in Dabchick and Mirror. Highlights include winning the 2025 Sas Mirror National Championship in the Mirror fleet, along with the 2025 Interschool Gauteng Regional Championships in the Optimist A fleet. Mika remains active in regional dinghy racing.
