A Western Cape sailor, Niels Tiaden represents ZVYC in competitive dinghy racing. Niels's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2017. Since then 71 races across 7 regattas have been completed. Niels competes mainly in the ILCA 7 fleet, alongside races in 420 and ILCA 6. Highlights include winning the 2018 SA Youth Nationals in the 420 fleet, along with the 2018 SA Youth Nationals in the 420 fleet. Niels remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
