A KwaZulu-Natal sailor, Shelby Steenkamp represents ZYC in competitive dinghy racing. Shelby's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2024. Since then 27 races across 4 regattas have been completed. Most of Shelby's racing has been in ILCA 4.7, with additional starts in ILCA 6. Shelby's best results include winning the 2025 Kzn ILCA Regionals in the ILCA 4.7 fleet, as well as the 2025 Kzn ILCA Regionals in the ILCA 4.7 fleet. Shelby remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
