A Western Cape sailor, Ben Henshilwood represents HYC in competitive dinghy racing. Ben's competitive record on SailingSA begins in April 2023. Since then 156 races across 18 regattas have been completed. Ben competes mainly in the Optimist A fleet, alongside races in Sonnet and 29er. Key performances include winning the 2025 SA Youth Nationals in the Optimist A fleet, along with the 2025 Sonnet National Championship in the Sonnet fleet. Ben continues to compete regularly across provincial and national sailing events.
