A Free State sailor, Benjamin Mienie represents SYC in competitive dinghy racing. Since March 2021, 100 races across 13 regattas have been recorded for Benjamin. Benjamin competes mainly in the Dart 18 fleet, alongside races in Dragonfly. Benjamin's best results include winning the 2021 Dart 18 Nationals in the Dart 18 fleet, as well as the 2021 Dart 18 Single Handed Nationals in the Dart 18 fleet. Benjamin remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
