Most of Charles's racing has been in Optimist B, with additional starts in Sonnet. Charles's best results include winning the 2025 HYC Cape Classic Sonnet in the Sonnet fleet, as well as the 2025 Zvyc Southern Charter Cape Classic in the Optimist B fleet. Charles remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
