A Western Cape sailor, David Rae represents HYC in competitive dinghy racing. David's competitive record on SailingSA begins in March 2018. Since then 189 races across 25 regattas have been completed. David competes mainly in the Cape 31 fleet, alongside races in Sonnet and 505. Notable results include victory at the 2019 Sonnet National Championships in the Sonnet fleet and strong finishes at the 2025 -01-12 SA Sonnet Nationals. David continues to compete regularly across provincial and national sailing events.
