Derek Van Heerden represents SYC and races in the Free State sailing circuit. Derek's earliest SailingSA result dates to April 2019. Since then 82 races across 9 regattas have been recorded. Most of Derek's racing has been in Dart 18, with additional starts in Hobie 16. Derek's best results include winning the SailingSA events in the multiple fleets fleet, as well as the SailingSA events in the multiple fleets fleet. Derek remains active in regional dinghy racing.
