A Western Cape sailor, Jean Buys represents GLYC in competitive dinghy racing. Since December 2023, 109 races across 8 regattas have been recorded for Jean. Jean competes mainly in the ILCA 6 fleet, alongside races in ILCA 4.7 and ILCA 7. Highlights include winning the 2026 Eden District Inter Schools Regatta in the ILCA 7 fleet, along with the 2026 Eden District Inter Schools Regatta in the ILCA 7 fleet. Jean remains active in regional dinghy racing.
