Jean Buys represents GLYC and races in the Western Cape sailing circuit. Jean's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2023. Since then 109 races across 8 regattas have been completed. Jean competes mainly in the ILCA 6 fleet, alongside races in ILCA 4.7 and ILCA 7. Jean's best results include winning the 2026 Eden District Inter Schools Regatta in the ILCA 7 fleet, as well as the 2026 Eden District Inter Schools Regatta in the ILCA 7 fleet. Jean remains active in regional dinghy racing.
