A Free State sailor, Luan Bester represents DAC in competitive dinghy racing. Luan's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2024. Since then 75 races across 9 regattas have been completed. Luan's primary class has been Optimist B, with additional appearances in Dabchick and Optimist A. Highlights include winning the 2025 Interschool Gauteng Regional Championships in the Optimist B fleet, along with the 2025 Interschool Gauteng Regional Championships in the Optimist B fleet. Luan remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
