A Free State sailor, Luan Bester represents DAC in competitive dinghy racing. Since April 2024, 116 races across 15 regattas have been recorded for Luan. Luan competes mainly in the Optimist A fleet, alongside races in Dabchick and Optimist B. Highlights include winning the 2025 -03-16 Interschool Gauteng Regional Championships in the Optimist B fleet, along with the 2025 -12-31 Nr Interschools in the Optimist B fleet. Luan remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
