A Free State sailor, Shellee Nel represents SYC in competitive dinghy racing. Shellee's earliest SailingSA result dates to May 2019. Since then 152 races across 21 regattas have been recorded. Shellee competes mainly in the J22 fleet, alongside races in Dart 18 and ILCA 7. Highlights include winning the 2023 J22 National Championships in the J22 fleet, along with the 2021 J/22 South African National Championships in the J22 fleet. Shellee continues to compete regularly across provincial and national sailing events.
