A Free State sailor, Alexander Tanner represents SYC in competitive dinghy racing. Since March 2025, 59 races across 7 regattas have been recorded for Alexander. Alexander competes mainly in the Optimist B fleet, alongside races in Optimist A. Alexander's best results include winning the 2026 Western Cape Dinghy Championships Final in the Optimist B fleet, as well as the 2026 Wc Dinghy Champs in the Optimist B fleet. Alexander remains active in regional dinghy racing.
