A Western Cape sailor, David Rae represents HYC in competitive dinghy racing. Since February 2024, 84 races across 13 regattas have been recorded for David. Most of David's racing has been in Sonnet, with additional starts in 505 and Cape 31. David's best results include winning the 2025 Sonnet National Championship in the Sonnet fleet, as well as the 2026 Western Cape Dinghy Championships Final in the 505 fleet. David remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
