Des Fairbank sails out of MRYC in the the region. Des's competitive record on SailingSA begins in January 2025. Since then 76 races across 3 regattas have been completed. Most of Des's racing has been in DF95, with additional starts in other fleets. Notable results include victory at the 2025 Df95 Ec Provincials in the DF95 fleet and strong finishes at the 2026 Ec Df95 Regional Championship. Des remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
