Sailing from UCT, Rhys Whitfield competes in the Western Cape dinghy circuit. Rhys's earliest SailingSA result dates to April 2023. Since then 76 races across 10 regattas have been recorded. Most of Rhys's racing has been in ILCA 6, with additional starts in ILCA 7 and Sonnet. Notable results include victory at the 2023 GENMAC Youth Nationals in the ILCA 6 fleet and strong finishes at the 2023 Msc Dinghy Classes & Hobie 16 Western Cape Regional Championships. Rhys continues to compete regularly across provincial and national sailing events.
