A KwaZulu-Natal sailor, Taylor Pretorius represents HMYC in competitive dinghy racing. Taylor's competitive record on SailingSA begins in December 2023. Since then 77 races across 9 regattas have been completed. Most of Taylor's racing has been in Dabchick, with additional starts in Optimist A and Mirror. Key performances include winning the Optimist Fs Provincials in the Optimist A fleet, along with the 2025 Hmyc Grand Slam in the Dabchick fleet. Taylor remains an active competitor in the Western Cape sailing circuit.
