LDYC - Lake Deneys Yacht Club

Established in 1958, Lake Deneys Yacht Club (LDYC) is a family-friendly sailing, powerboat and social club on the Vaal Dam at Deneysville — about an hour from Johannesburg. From early tents and caravans it has grown to roughly 67 acres with caravan sites and camping. The club hosts the annual Round the Island Race (typically first weekend in February), a national inland sailing institution; LDYC holds a Guinness World Record for the most yachts to finish an inland yacht race (2007).
